Targeted Audience: -Government/elected officials -Community partners & leaders -Educators -DEIB Professionals -Law Enforcement Professionals Description: In spaces where the voices of minoritize people are limited, we tend to ask why. What can our field do to diversify and build a space of belonging? This presentation dives into the multi-dimensional approach to understanding how we undermine and underutilize the voices of underrepresented populations, causing harm and a sense of exclusion, and, most importantly, what we can do to change the direction toward healing and building a sense of belonging. When marginalized people's voices are not heard or represented in a particular field, it is important to ask why. This workshop explores a multidimensional approach to understanding how underrepresented populations are often undermined and excluded, leading to harm and exclusion. It also offers directions for creating a healing and welcoming environment where everyone can feel a sense of belonging.
