Description:
Join us as we speak with our guest, Dr. Lorenzo Boyd, the former president of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences, Stewart Professor of Community Policing, and former director of the Center for Advanced Policing at the University of New Haven. Dr. Boyd is a nationally recognized leader in police-community relations and urban policing, diversity issues in the criminal justice system, race and crime, and the overall criminal justice system.
In this episode, we will discuss Dr. Boyd’s book Policing in the U.S.: Past, Present, and Future and his efforts to stimulate attitudinal and behavioral change among police officers and the community. Through collaborative research, training, and engagement, he aims to bridge the gap between academically grounded research, public policy, and practical implementation.
